About Amy

Amy Feigel is a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor and California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Amy received her pre and post graduate education from Liberty University and has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. She has served as a Social Worker for Child Protective Services, a Group Facilitator working with sexual abuse survivors through Parents United International, a Mental Health Clinician providing outpatient counseling for at-risk youth, the Director of the Extraordinary Women organization and as a private practice therapist. Amy is currently employed at the American Association of Christian Counselors located in Forest, Virginia, working directly with Member Care, Professional and Conference Development, is a private-practice therapist at Light Counseling in Lynchburg, Virginia, and is also a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor through the International Board of Professional and Pastoral Counselors.

Amy has experience in conducting numerous workshops that provide local communities with mental health education, in-service psycho-education to teaching professionals and continuing education training for members of the AACC on a variety of topics such as: eating disorders, teen suicide/cutting/depression, anxiety/stress, women’s issues, social networking and the online generation.

Amy’s areas of specialty include: eating disorders, child/adolescent issues, relationship issues, sexual abuse, suicide, cutting/self-harm and depression. She carefully utilizes techniques and concepts found in Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Client Centered Therapy.

As a Follower of Christ, Wife of one and Mother of two, her main passion is to see those hurting find true wholeness and healing that comes only through a relationship with Him.
